Lucia's Story
Lucia Iris Seifried, our light and hope
Lucia Iris Seifried was only nine months old when she went home to be with the Lord. Though her life on earth was brief, she filled our home with joy, laughter, and a sense of wonder we will never forget. Her bright blue eyes, full of curiosity, and sweet giggle that could light up a room changed our hearts forever.
In April of 2025, a drunk driver caused the crash that took Lucia's life. In the days that followed, we were faced with a reality for which no parent is ever prepared. Along with the deep grief and shock, we were suddenly faced with decisions and expenses no family should ever have to think about while mourning their child.
In the middle of our pain, God met us with His presence. He surrounded us with people who prayed, brought meals, cried with us, and carried us when we couldn't stand on our own. We also learned firsthand how overwhelming it can be for families who are grieving — emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
Out of that experience, The Lucia Iris Foundation was born.
Our desire is not simply to remember Lucia, but to let her life continue to shine. Through this foundation, we help families who have lost a child by assisting with funeral expenses, offering encouragement, and sharing the hope that sustained us. We also speak about forgiveness, faith in suffering, and the importance of making choices that protect life — so that fewer families experience preventable loss.
Lucia's name means light and hope. Our prayer is that her story will continue to do just that — bring light into dark moments, offer hope to grieving families, and point hearts toward Christ.

We share Lucia's story and the hope we found in Christ through unimaginable loss. Through churches, community events, and conferences, we speak about grief, forgiveness, trust in God, and the choices that protect life and prevent future tragedy.
Education & Awareness
We work with churches, families, and community partners to encourage safe, life-protecting decisions - and to make sure families know where to turn for support when tragedy strikes.

Families may contact us directly, or a funeral home, church, or counselor may connect them with us.
We listen with gentleness and care
With gentleness and confidentiality, we learn what they're facing, pray with them when welcomed, and discuss how we can help.
Financial assistance reaches those who need it
Financial assistance is paid directly to the funeral home or service providers, easing the burden without adding stress.
Christian counseling becomes available to you
Through trusted counseling partners, we help provide grief counseling rooted in faith. When possible, we assist with the cost — so families receive support they may not otherwise seek or be able to afford.
